• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Is a draw the holy grail ?

The club swings in an arc around your body so ideally the club should approach the ball from the inside, thereby imparting draw spin - a draw.

nb: It is possible to hit a fading ballflight whilst hitting from the inside but not many club golfers do that.

If you hit a fade of any description and you are happy with it then don't change.

What's King is making the ball end up where you wanted it. Draw, fade, it's not that important. Slices and Hooks, now that's a different story.

Bob made an interesting point here recently: He said 'beginners want to draw the ball and better golfers want to fade it' or words to that effect.
