Iron sets off ebay;check em !

agree the sentiment but many 'local pro's' sell via ebay as it's an easy way for them to market a little (lot) wider than their small shop!

this also supports their ability to offer trade in prices on new clubs too because they won't get stuck with stock - most simply don't have the capital capabilities.

they are generally easy to spot as they make it claer who they are - and have a phone they answer!

Yes i know what Homer means, but i have got several individual beauties off eBay
A Callaway Great Big Bertha driver that was the loveliest club i ever played of any loft, and only came out of the bag when the PING freebies came along - £18 off eBay, as New - not a mark on it, lovely shaft

Callaway GBB II 5W - £22 - beauty of a little club, lovely small head,

Hogan 60 Lob Wedge - beautiful

Only thing i never really got on with (but didnt give it too much time in all honesty) was a Cleveland Strong 3W with an Aldila shaft - £12

All 3 (plus the various Mizuno and Hogan irons and wedges) are sitting unused in the garage - no-one ever responded to the "any reasonable offer considered" posts on here, so they will go onto eBay i suppose (when teh Missus realises i still havent sold them!) - someone will get a bargain for any of them (hint hint)

I'm not arguing there isn't a bargain to be had and I'm sure even as recently as three or four years ago that was the norm. However with so many fakes flooding the market and the hassle of having to send stuff back, try and get the money sorted it really does seem more of a chore than good sense to me. Got to the shop or range, hit it and buy it.
