Iron head covers

Smiffy, I took the heads cover off for that 4i out of the trees. You need to have your clubs in peak condition for that shot. The 165 yard left to right 30 yard slider, you can't hit that with the head cover on.

For the rest, may be. We will see how you get round bearwood lakes, provided you haven't started your 6 month lay off by November.

Iron head covers? Almost as bad as Driver head covers, what next, head covers for everything, I mean who wants to cover up their New top of the range drivers,.....sound silly doesnt it?

I have had my irons for nearly 2 years and there is hardly any marks on them ,i carry but as long as they dont make a noise they wont mark up,and i dont use wood headcovers either i dont see the point

I avoid covers as much as possible.

My putter cover goes in the boot and then the club sits in a special slot outside the bag. I try to get at least one of my wood covers off as well. I don't get clanking (but I use a trolley and 14-way divider) and HATE the hassle of removing a head cover.....

I don't really organise my bag that much either, the woods sit across the back 3 of the divider and the irons go in (more or less) any old place.....longer ones towards the woods and shorter ones (incl wedges) at the front of the bag.

If I carried my bag and had a 4-way, I'd probably resort to covers to protect my irons.....but only on 1/2 of them. Can't see the point in the whole set.

What makes covers a hassle? They take what, half a second to remove? How is that so hard? what the heck are you going to do with the time saved, have one sip of beer? A little glance at the wife? Say hello to the neighbours cat? Watch an ad break? I am intrigued?

It's not a time thing (I have plenty of that playing with the normal crowd ), it's just a fag....I don't know why....

A few weeks ago i bought a new set of Mizuno MP irons,Only took enough cash for the irons,the guy gave me a set of zip up clubhead protectors free,said it would be a shame to damage the clubs in the bag.Also good for resale or trade in value

I use them too, bought when I was carrying, they reduce the "bag chatter" quite a bit and help keep the clubs in good nick. I don't see a problem with them, wouldn't pay £12 for them though. Got mine from e-bay for a couple of quid.
