Internet rip off

Damn just did a speediest, I'm only running at 29 download and 2 up

Lol 67mb down and 27mb up or so from home and 30 down 2 up in work and Im paying less at home too. Madness how the comms companies work out their billing and charging tables.
yet an office we have in Worcs and it cannot be upgraded beyond 4.5mb and are still paying what we are paying for a far faster service.

ref sky, they have their own comms in the bt exchanges, they still use the wiring from the house etc but they certainly dont necessarily use the same routing as bt once it comes into the exchanges.

My Broadband provider (O2/Be) have just been bought by Sky, so in the next few months will be moving over to Sky's network...So, as Im a TV customer, I took advantage of the offer they had for O2 customers. Free unlimited broadband for a year and unlimited anytime calls to most "popular" countries (US, Australia, places in Europe etc) for £19.50 a month. My broadband was costing me £18 a month before. Even after my free broadband promo comes to an end, it'll be costing me £27 a month, compared to £33 a month with my BT line and O2. Top job sez I.

Happy to hear Sky's service is better these days.

That is a lot to pay for a rubbish service. You would probably be better ditching it completely and switching to mobile broadband!
