I had a ridge tile blow off last week. It fell off the roof and hit the dining room extension roof. So Saturday Tash was up the ladder and replaced 5 tiles. Missis T said the is a bit of broken tile on the main roof. It’s not a bit of tile, another tile is broken and hanging on by it’s teeth. One of the green keepers ( a pal) was a roofer by trade and is coming at 3 pm to change the tile and replace the ridge tile. Al slip him £50. Fortunately I have some tiles left over from the extensions from years ago.

I wonder what business Dando is in… ?

??

Let me regail a short story.
Me mum and dad booked a cruise Jan 2021 to go away for 28 days in the Caribbean for Xmas and New year 2021. Last week in October 2021, me mum ended up in hospital. Eventually diagnosed with gall stones. These were removed and then her Gall bladder in January last month. Suffice to say they had to cancel there holiday with P and O / Bolsover cruise. For arguments sake it cost £10,000. I contacted Bolsover cruise and cancelled it. They contacted P and O. P and O charged 60% cancellation fee and promptly returned £4,000 it left £6,000 to claim from the holiday insurance. So I contacted the Insurance company who told me they used a third party company for claims.( CEGA is part of the Charles Taylor Group). I sent in all the relevant paperwork, and there was a significant amount which the asked for. Sat back and waited. What I haven’t put in was the fancying about I went through contacting them to send the paperwork. Anyway a month later I received an email saying “ after consultation with me they have sent the money I had claimed for and the claim was now closed”. The language I used would of got me a lifetimes infraction on here.
1, They had not contacted me.
2, The holiday was £10,000, we had already received £4K and claimed for £6k.
3, Somehow CEGA had taken £4K off £6 k and returned £2K. ?

I called the company and you get through to an assistant, they take your details and promise to return a call within 5 days. I eventually got a call and I asked what was going on. Bottom line I was told “ I should not have got the £2K as they had not received all of the necessary paperwork”. At this point I would of received another infraction. They had as it transpired received the paperwork.

The first thing I did was write an email and told the company point blank I was putting in a complaint and contacting the insurance ombudsman. The second thing I did was contact Bolsover cruise ( who have been absolutely brilliant). They have a dedicated team that will send the relevant paperwork direct if there are any problems.
Suffice to say I received a phone call out of the blue last week. The insurance company has looked at the case is full of apologises and will refund the amount we claimed for. Bloody useless they were.

My thoughts are that it’s still a huge whoosh as it’s no secret that Dando is an insurance man and was taking the Micky out of himself. ?

wasn’t aware he was an insurance man and I wasn’t having a dig at him. I have played golf with him and had an enjoyable 5 hrs in his presence. I know that and he knows that. ?

Just an update for those interested....
Assessor came along early on Thursday morning as arranged. Took a few pictures, and said he would be in touch later that day after speaking with the actual insurers.
It's now the following Tuesday and I've heard diddly squat.
