Posting here in the distant hope that someone has the same and found a 'cure' . . . . . . . . .

I have osteoarthritis at both ends of my right clavicle (suspect from 30 tears of a 'bad' golf swing which has relied more on brute strength than skill or talent). I have a massive bony lump (calsification) on the sternam end but both ends are painful. I have an appointment at Spire in a few weeks time. I suspect there is no cure (as far as I know, unlike hips, there is no clavicle replacement) - I suspect that this will mean the end of me playing golf. As I said, I thought I'd post it on here in the distant hope that some else had it and found a way to fix it?

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully someone can help.

If you had to finish golf, do you have another sport or activity lined up to take its place?

I had a look in at the bowls club . . . . . . rolling a ball across the lawn . . . . . boring . . . . . but that seems to be where golfers go to die !!

For me it would be the social side as much as a slight competitive element.

I get your point 🤭 , it's low friction though.......I came to golf from hockey due to injury, I suspect bowls is the next logical step. Could you do padel or pickle ball? I don't know how your injury would affect those but they feel a little more active than bowls.

My former golf club that I'm probably returning to has a gravel boules court next to the clubhouse. Never saw anybody using it but I'm looking forward to tidying it up and getting it back in use.
Seems like a less formal and possibly more sociable version of lawn bowls.

Have you tried or considered accupuncture?
I had it for a ruptured achilles tendon that has calcified over the tear whilst waiting on the NHS waiting list.
I would consider accupuncture for anything now, to either compliment the NHS or to avoid the NHS.
