indoor putting practice

I want to work on my putting when i'm at home. Problem is I live in apartment so have just been hitting balls on the carpet as I don't have a garden. Does anyone have one of these putting mats? Want to know they any good or should I just practice putting more before I play?

I have a mat made by Eyeline but I can't find the same one on line.
It is a fair bit thicker than a lot of the other ones I have seen and leaves a line where the ball has rolled.

It certainly helped me with direction but distance is sometimes a bit confusing because you have to hit it a bit harder to get up the slope for the ball return.

I used mine with the iPing iPhone App.

All in all, pretty useful but not as good as the variance on a real green.
My 8-10 ft puts are certainly much better than they were prior to the matt.
