Was at the range with my son tonight and noticed his weight seems to be on his back foot at impact?

He hits the ball pretty well, but can be inconsistent with the odd pull or thin coming on.

I got him to try the walk through drill and also tried a ball under his right foot to encourage his weight forward. It didn't go well as he has grooved good contact with his current style and doesn't realise longer term benefit and that he would be better to fix this now.

Anyone have a magic pill to help with?

Thanks PF

Thanks for the videos Coach - particularly like the ball outside the left foot drill. No props or gimmicks and will force him to get his weight forward else he will completely miss ball.:)

No problem, he might well find it a little ways difficult to achieve, but thing is to give it a good go & he should get it in the end. You can also go that drill off the deck with ball off middle of the left toes. That all said, the towels drills are pretty useful to stop the hanging back on the trailside too.

Here's another ways of looking at fixing it, as you can hear from the strike, if he can get this down good, you may well end up struggling to keep up with him :)
