Played a 36 scratch open on Saturday and was paired up with a mate of mine off 5. He went in 7 bunkers over the 2 rounds and got up and down 6 times including once out of a greenside bunker for birdie. Every time he got it to within 6 feet or less apart from the one he didn't 'up and down' and that was from a bad lie in the trap, made bogey that time. Overall he was level par out of 7 bunkers!

Have to say, never seen bunker play like that from a 5hcp'er before.

best bunker player i know is off 9, the rest of his game is rubbish, but stick him in sand and you would think he was off plus figures.

not sissy parkland bunkers either deep pot bunkers. best shot ive ever seen was from one of the spectacle bunkers 50 yards short of the 5th Green. he was right up the face and stick it stiff. most would have been happy just to get out.

I had to have bunker lessons start of the season, that part of my game was Rammel. Now I am confident about getting out of bunkers most of the time first time.
When I got my first up and down after my lesson I was buzzing.
Played Norfolk last month and on the first at Hunstanton I was in a fairway bunker at least 120 to the pin, stood in the bunker with my 48 degree Vokey and thought just pick it off the surface. It flew out Mr wind got it and the next thing it is on the green 15ft is from the flag. I was Buzzing.
Played Sheringham and on there 18th I pulled my second over the hill into another fairway bunker. This second one was even more difficult, I could not see the pin, had to get it up 12 ft and thought sod it, same shot as Hunny. Hit a peach but could not see it after it went over the mound. Walks around the mound and it is sat 10 ft from the pin. I stuck my chest out that much there was buttons popping and flying everywhere.
Always love to see a well excited bunker shot.
