Im going to...........

"seeing as i play to it occassionaly already"

If only it were that easy !

I'm off 11.5, and quite often in Social golf play well under, have even managed to play to 2, but not at my own course.
Medal Card in my Hand, White Tee's........its a little harder than that.

I dont know whether all clubs are the same, but in nearly every comp at my track, there are perhaps 1-3 players who shoot under their handicap, never more than 4/5, which I guess is how it should be.

Good luck tho, altho you dont say what you're off now ?

yeah i know what you mean about comp presuure and the like. But i only play golf for enjoyment so i dont really worry to much about medals - this seems to make me play better anyway.

im off 20 at the mo - been back playing 3 weeks and have just been cut by 1.2 from 21.5 that the club put me back on when i rejoined.

ive played about 5 rounds since being back and numerous 9 hole rounds and havent played above 18 yet.
And i think ive made a break through on my putting woop!

Don't want to be the one to put a downer on this, it is good to have goals and be specific, but you are talking about one heck of a cut in one season. I can play often to single figures, but have had a 12 h/cap for nigh on 20 years. It is not as easy as it looks. Especially off the medal tees, with the pins in the medal positions, and a card in your hand. You may not be under stress in comps at the moment, but believe me, it will come.

Good luck.

luckily however i wil be able to play a round and practice everyday from the 18th of june, so i should be able to sharpen up my game alot over than period. plus on the course i play the white tees arnt that much harder than the yellows.

Hi Golfnut, where do you play? I know Penygroes a bit and can't recall seeing a golf course there.

If its any help to you guys who havent been playing for long, it was the day I stopped trying to get my H/C down.................
.......... that my H/C came down.......lol

Which may be a good lesson for me now too....... :D

theres two penygroes's in wales one in the north and south west, which one are you thinking about?
the course where i play is about a 5/10 min drive away, called glynhir

It is the north one I know in Gwynedd. Sister in laws family hail from there.

im from the one in the south ;).
My main plan to get my handicap down is to just practice as much as i can and to just enjoy playing the game. i think good scores will then follow. I never go out and think ' im going to play to X amount of shots under my HC', I just focus on having a good time, after all it is but a game ( an addictive one mind you).
