Can't justify Ferndown GC, but was thinking about Canford Magna as a possibility.

Ferndown forest is ok but it is a short course only measuring 5000 yards off the medal tees and the greens are rubbish.

Canford Magnas a good course as far as i know but i'm told it gets very busy at weekends and to expect 5 hour rounds. Canfordhacker plays there so maybe he could give you more details.

Crane valley is a good course but young and needs to mature. It will be a much better course when it does.

Dudsbury is a cracking course but is closed half the winter and for £950 i think a bit to expensive for the amount of winter that it is closed. They also do £15 twilight from 4 in the summer which is a bargain considering it is a normal green fee of £50. I plan to play twilight there a few times in the summer.

I'm joining Moors Valley in the near future. It is a cracking course. They are also building a new 9 hole course and clubhouse which they are starting later this year. plus they have waived the £250 joining fee this year so is a good time to join. I played it today for £13 twilight fee.

If you want to come along and try a couple of the courses out let me know. If i am available i'll be happy to come out with you.

Hapless - As Tim says, I'm at Canford Magna. It's got a lot of really good points, but some drawbacks. PM me if you want details or to join us one Saturday morning for a round to check it out. It's a way from West Moors though...
