• Thank you all very much for sharing your time with us in 2025. We hope you all have a safe and happy 2026!

If you won the lottery?

£15m - I'd buy a nice house with the things I've always wanted in a house - swimming pool, games room, cinema and then I'd give some to family and friends.

I'd be able to fund the bloody business without any worries!!

Other than that, I'd like to help other folks in my position now.

That and a treat for the wife, a DB9, and a treat for myself, a TVR Sagris.

I'd have to throw a party with some live music, Dave Gilmore for starters.

Help the parents out in their retirement, and the mother in law for the support she's given us over the years.

But, give the kids the opportunities and understand what they are in life. Seeing them be happy and not as cynical as I am would make me happy.

Never likely to happen but I'd make sure my mum was covered should the need to go into care arose. Other than that I'd buy a decent house, a couple of decent long holidays per year and maybe give the club some cash to either put another story on the clubhouse as per the original plans (for societies, wedding etc) or perhaps to build a state of the art short game facility and get some mature trees tansplanted onto the course to define a few holes much better.

I'd like to think I'd look after some of my pet charities and friends and family and then be prudent with the rest for a rainy day

Ohh Homer. You don't wanna do the second story thing. Our club often has 'functions' on and because of staff 'shortages' can't even provide diner for members finishing twilight on a Friday night. Pisses me off!!!

But I understand the needs of a business. Though even so..........

£15 million?

I'd only need less than 1/2 or even 1/4 of that, so I guess I'd find some people/causes/charities to invest in.

I'd keep it quiet though.

Purchase check-list.
1) house (bigger, by 2 or 3 or 4 (?) times)
2) another 2 houses, probably somewhere hot with golf courses
3) couple of nice cars
4) personal trainer, golf lessons, etc.

Get Life Membership to a swanky course and host a Forum Meet, not too big a house, just big enough, couple of nice cars that sort of thing.

I'd buy a kidney, house, fast car and help get my beloved Stockport County back in the league. Oh and maybe some AP2s and loads of pro v1x

Id be out of this train crash of a country in a flash, A couple of apartments here and there and spend time travelling between them. Nothing to family, nothing to friends, exactly the same as my cousin did who won 7m 5 years ago, he didn't even buy me a pint.

A house in a really nice area in the countryside and close to a golf club! prob cost 1-1.5 mill at the very most, if that.

Im not a car person so just get a new one... 30K for something decent, efficient and room for clubs.

Once I have those, probably 4k on a top spec PC and then all the games I want :D

I would quit my job :D

I would give away 1-2 million overall to old golf clubs and rugby clubs.

Then give some to parents and sister, maybe 2-3 mill.

Then keep the rest and live happy on the interest of the other half

I'd build a colf/leisure complex.
My brother could run the leisure side, my sister whould manage the bookings/ accomodation bit, Jan would be in charge of the pro shop and range and I'd give free lessons on the range.

Then with the rest I'd be the secret millionaire. Helping people who help others for no reward. :D

Usual house, cars, sort family and a good long break away to take it all in. Buy £1m worth of 1 bed flats inlondon near the city, set that up as a business for daughter bringing in a tidy £100k or so a year for doing very little.

I'd go to my club and offer to fund extra staff & equipment for the greens team to make it immaculate all the time. For that I would want to be able to get them to add extra tees and add/ improve current bunkering and hole shaping.
