If you could make a golf product what would it be?

Brilliant thread!
I want the heated winter shoes and trolley handle.

I know they are available, but a proper LEGAL multi club... 5 iron to sand wedge at click of a button.

Also self raking bunkers (some of our members think they already exist)

Great first post, have a great time here!

I would like a golf trolley that works like a (silent) hovercraft so that it can be used 365 days a year because it can't damage the course

The Hover-Trolley, love it

An affordable ball with some kind of tracking device in it that links up to a hand held or watch device, so no more lost balls.
Also a standard weight/size ball that floats, so can be easily recovered from the wet stuff.

I would like a microchip put into your clubs bag tag with electronic readers around the course. The first reason is so the clubhouse could monitor the speed of groups playing as it chips you at each tee. The second reason for it would be on blind holes you could have a traffic light system on the tee box so you be sure its safe to hit when some numpty forgets to ring the bell.

Alternatively I would like to see a golf club that after it is setup for the shot if you don't take your shot in say 10 seconds it gives you an electric shock.

That is one of the best ideas i have seen on the thread!! would allow the pro shop to start from the 10th if feasable to prevent hold ups, love the traffic light idea for blind holes!!

If you build it, they will come!!!

Heated shoes and self raking bunkers would be immense.

nice idea, however cue the mischievous scamps that leave one chip on the fairway ensuring the traffic light stays red, result...armageddon:lol:

with the way tech is just now this idea has serious merits utilising GPS linked back to the pro shop, when the pro sees a group losing a clear hole to the one in front he can send a message/buzz/electric shock/chime/pre recorded voice shouting 'Get a move on'

how about some glasses (think virtual reality glasses, not like that ever caught on!) but you put them on when you get to the green and it somehow geo reads all the lie, undulations, grass direction and tells you where to hit the ball and how hard?!

Slightly against the grain of the game, but would be cool none the less!!

I had an idea i actually put into practice, about 5 years ago in winter i bought the mrs something called "mummy mitts" ( http://www.mummymitts.com/ ) fixed big weather proof mittens that stay attached to the pushchair. They got stolen from her ages ago!!!

A product like this is now available for the golf trolley market anyway now... not sure how long for, so i am hardly at the cutting edge!

My "invention" would be a single flex shaft that adapts to how it is swung and the force appliedto it.

No more hunting for the right shaft, 1 shaft suits all.

an affordable golf ball radar finder,

without having to change the golf balls in anyway

a golf training aid machine that you attach to parts of your body, the machine moves your body in the exact way your chosen tour pro swings, - so you can get the true feeling of how you are supposed to swing

slowly at first and would have to build in some safetey device so it doesn't rip your limbs off

I'd like a pitch repair fork spring mounted inside toe of golf shoe a la Rosa Klebb so that I could repair my usual 4 marks without bending down

I love that idea. Can't see it happening though, the makers would lose too much money (unless they charged about £500 per shaft).

A vote here for the slow play electric shock club.
To be fair, it could be used as a training aid for slowcoaches, starting out at the minute they usually take, then it shortens the safe time by a couple of seconds every round

and a fridge for cold beers on hot days ;)

An electric trolley with a built in wood burner for cold days.

Like the David Beckham Thermos? keeps his coffee hot and his ice cream cold? (crikey, that joke is so old, i googled it and it references whiskey nose!!

David Beckham turns up for training one morning carrying a Thermos flask. Alex Ferguson asks "What's that Dave?"
David reply's: "It's a Thermos Flask, Victoria gave it to me.
Alex: "What does it do?"
David: "It's brilliant, it keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold"
Alex: "What have you got in it today?"
David: "Two cups of coffee and a choc ice!"

An oldie, but makes me laugh all the same :)

I'm hugely in favour of the GPS tracking chip mentioned above. If I could invent something, I think I'd go for a windproof ball.
