People should be able to make their choice through free will

If someone decides they dont want to register or even turn up then that choice should be respected

If you dont vote for anyone or work towards improving the political system then you can only accept it as it is.

Back to the Poll:

Well the low IQ/thickies are gathering in force. Tories are romping away but just look at the Kippers, they are ahead of Labour at the moment, is this purely a protest vote? We may well have a Tory Government or even a Tory/Kipper coalition in the morning.

Happy days :)

I would strongly suspect that a Golf forum would not be classed as anything other than a Tory/UKIP/Right of centre stronghold :D.. I expected nothing else from the Poll to be honest.. ;)

Never seems to come over that way in the threads here. Always seems more biased to Red tie, Guardian reading, Yogurt Knitters to me. Maybe the great unwashed are turning ;)

Or maybe they just feel safer airing their right wing semi-fascistic tendencies in a poll without having to make a comment.. :D

Oh come on sir, really?

On the other thread I pointed out that if you substitute the word '(most) golfers' or '(most) golf clubs' for 'conservatives' in this statement from Psychology Monthly or whatever it was regarding conservative values then it would be pretty accurate.

Conservatives generally value tradition, respect for authority, and social order, and tend to be leery of innovation and change.

Yes totally agree it is a generalisation, but look at the threads on here regarding dress codes and the such like and it is mostly the conservative (with a small c) views that is prominent and are lived out in most golf clubs, with a few radical yoghurt knitting yurt living liberal lefties putting up a counter argument. How many times do you hear the word 'tradition' in threads on here for a reason not to do something/why something is as it is, which is classic conservative.

Plus they say people get more right wing as they get older, so again golf will benefit from that swing as well seeing as the average age of those that play golf must be higher than most sports. Apart from bowls. I bet they are all right of Thatcher.;)

Sorry but work am I going to do towards a political system ? I have my on life and work today

The improvement I want is adding NOTA to the voting system but that will never happen because the government will see exactly what people think of them

Again people choice should be respected

Interesting that someone with so many opinions has never actually exercised their democratic right to try and influence how the parish/local council/local authority/country is run;)

It's not really interesting though is it

Don't give two hoots about the parish

And my reasons for not voting are clear - still able to have an opinion

I live in an ultra safe Tory seat (John Redwood), and he could strangle puppies in the town market and still get elected. I have never voted Tory and would not do so except to prevent a more extreme candidate. Trouble is that Labour are completely out to lunch and Ed Millipede is utterly useless. I presume brother David is waiting for them to hit bottom before returning. He is a more credible politician but I don't trust him any more than Ed. The Lib Dems have shown that they are utterly mercenary and are destined for political oblivion and I won't be helping prevent that. So centre-left voters like me have nowhere good to go. The Tories have lurched right to chase UKIP' agenda of xenophobia and fear mongering, but Labour have done nothing to show traditional Labour values. They are just as intent on destroying the NHS as we know it as the Tories.

I think everyone should vote, though, if only for the least worst candidate, so I will be voting Green, probably. They are the closest to a rational party which hasn't sold out. If there is a candidate for the National Health Action Party, I would vote for them, but I think they are only contesting marginals and the Cameron, Hunt, etc seats.

did you see the Scottish Referendum?:mmm:

If I was to vote, I would like to think it would be an informed decision.
I would look into the background of the candidates and study their policies and promises.
I would examine their history in politics and their role in the recent expenses scandal.
And finally, I would like to meet the candidates and discuss what they have got planned for my future.

To be honest, I'd rather poke my eyes out with a blunt stick.

Dont vote, it only encourages them.

It will be interesting how MOST of the electorate vote in Rochester & Strood. I think there may be a lot of Golfers there :)
