If Onlys????

Golf is a game of "if onlys".

Yesterday was my very first singles competition off of the white tees and managed to get 3 pars and a birdie. I got to the 16th and blobbed it, made par on the 17th then blobbed the 18th.

I am currently joint 3rd and 2 shots off the lead going into the second and final round of our Victory Cup.

Being my first ever singles comp i thought i could have been the current leader if it weren’t for them 2 blobs.

Bring on round 2!!!!!!!!

My regret from the weekend is that if I'd only bogeyed our 2nd instead of taking triple bogey I'd be off 6 now.
It sounds easy, 2 x 5 irons, a wedge and 2 putts for a bogey 5 but I just can't bring myself to give up on reaching the green in regulation so out comes the driver.

If only I could drive like Westwood, have the short game of Donald and putt like Dave Stockton....

Good showing in your first comp well played and good luck in the 2nd round. This won't be the first if only and more than likely the whole field is saying the same thing every week! Being the last few holes did you realise you were on a good score and start trying a bit to hard?
