If Memberships Were Lower, Would you.....

I'm a member at two courses, but it certainly doesn't mean I get to play twice the amount of golf! I'm not going to renew at one of them next year and just stay with the cheaper one (my home course).

I've been tempted for a while to join a 2nd club, ideally a links as that is my favourite form of golf :D

Join Dunbar, they are going to be building a golf academy and a 9 hole course, and a new club house soon. And its not expensive. Quality course IMO for the money.

Dunbar's a great shout and I thought about it myself for next year. Compared to courses in southern England-shire, it's pretty inexpensive, but the joining fee and clubhouse levy is a no-no for me at the moment. :(

Im a member at 2 Clubs, ( this year ) , because of my shift work, ( only work 3 days / nights per week ) , have loadsa spare time to justify, and had money 'burning a hole in my pocket' at start of year.........

Shame , I picked the year with the worst summer weather , biggest rainfall in years

I doubt I will have 2 memberships next year....

The best offer kicking around just now is Leven Links at £370 for country membership, join in July and you get untill Feb for £185! Arrgh decisions man......

I would join West Hill tomorrow if I could afford it. Hankley Common is closer, but the course always beats me up, and the members are a bit stuffy.

Would probably still play all my golf at my current club though, as it is the most relaxed place I have ever played, and not a bad course.

How much is your club fish?

Adult (over 39) is £950.00 plus initial joining fee of £400.00.

New reduced rates introduced this year to attract younger players of £750.00 for 31 - 38 year old's & £550.00 for 25 - 30 year old's.

£100.00 Bar levy to be added in all cases.

Robin,

Even your current rate is cheap as chips, if I was only paying that then if I was you I would be looking about for a second course.

I don't think £1350.00 initially is "cheap as chips" personally Sam.

does sound a bit cheap bomber, maybe it has something
to do with the course? Or the members?

Would you like to expand on that?

With your comments about playing in Wales soon, it won't be hard or long to flush out who you are....

Yep I agree on your first year but after that it's only £750.00 and that is a good price for a years golf and if it was me I would then be looking for a second course to play.

I joined Glenbervie last year and the fee is £910.00 per year and had to pay £1000.00 joining fee.

£950.00 for me Sam.

I'm not sure if its discrimination to have such higher memberships just because your older?

After all, its the older members like me that put more behind the bar as well, the youngsters haven't got any money and just play & leave so we get stuffed at both ends!
