If Memberships Were Lower, Would you.....

£2k for Glenbervie yer aff yer heid big Sam!

Na cream of the crop in Central Scotland as far as golf courses go, granted a bit wet at the moment but tell me what parkland course isn't after all the rain we have had. Leven is a great second course and playable most days even in this weather and at most you will find no more than 2-3 small puddles on it at worst.

Was surprised how well Glenbervie had stood up to all this rain we have had when i played night:D

£950.00 for me Sam.

I'm not sure if its discrimination to have such higher memberships just because your older?

After all, its the older members like me that put more behind the bar as well, the youngsters haven't got any money and just play & leave so we get stuffed at both ends!

Sorry Robin, I was thinking you were a young dude like myself:whoo:

we have a similar thread from time to time, golf like all sports can be done on a budget or money no object, take memberships, there are plenty of cheap muni type memberships that offer reduced green fees,or mid range type courses with a pay monthly arrangement for say £35 a month and then the private courses that charge a few thousand to play, likewise with equipment you could if you wished start playing golf for less than £150 or yet again spend £4000+ so the cost is not stopping people playing golf it comes down to time for most people unless you are retired or unemployed what is the point of being a member of more than one course,i have country membership at another course cost me £257 last year and played it twice!!! all because of other commitments.
