Then how many does a golfer have?

i was sat on my golf cart when I heard a great Big Bang from the side of the cart just behind my seat. I turned round to see lots of plastic on the floor and a golf ball. I then looked at the cart and saw the hole the ball had just left, any further to the right and it would have hit me.



How close have you come to being smacked on the full by a golf ball? I've had balls bounce past me before, but never anything like this.

Leaned down to tee my ball up on a par 3 which hits uphill adjacent to a par 4.whilst teeing up a ball past my chin and under my arm teeing the ball up. No fore shout. Needles to say i wasnt too happy!

Had a ball cut a 5 wood shaft clean in half right at the top of my backswing! The look on my partners face who wasn't far away told me how close it had been.

I got hit by my partners hybrid shot at pretty much full velocity. I hit me square on the chest and he asked me why I didn't knock it back on the fairway, I ended up with a bruise the size of a dinner plate!

3) Hit in the danglies by a wayward tee shot from another fairway. Now that did smart a tadge!!!
4) Hit in the head(side of the mouth) by a wayward tee shot - air ambulance off the course. I've never seen that much blood before!!

I've had a few other close scrapes, but the only time I've been struck on the course is by the head of my 3 wood. I hit it that hard on the follow through the shaft snapped across my back and the head hit me on the back of the head.

I got hit behind the ear on a pitch and putt course and it does hurt a lot and a massive lump followed very quickly.
Would hate to be hit full on.

I wasn't even a golfer when HID dragged me to Collingtree Park to watch a pro event. I'd amused myself by buying 2 cups of coffee and was wandering back to find him when a ball parted my hair and just missed the drinks - Frank Nobilo was the culprit!

Also hit my own ball straight into the tree I was trying to miss and smacked me in the chin - splitting it open.

Also had an opponent smack her ball into the tree she was trying to miss and it deflected 90 degrees and straight into my ribcage.

Caddying as a kid got hit in the head twice in the same round at the addington from stray drivers, still finished the round as the old boy was my regular but 4 days off school with major concussion

Followed a seniors comp one Monday morning, never again, balls reigning down everywhere and no one shouts fore because they cant see the ball past 20 yards.

Never been hit but the odd stray shot has landed close. Nothing as bad as what has happened to others on here!

Closest I've had was at a society day.

Luckily I was watching the chap tee off of the previous hole. He hit a raking low hook followed by a shout of 4.

As I was watching I could see the ball, heading straight at me and had to dive to the ground for it to miss.





Oh, and the chap teeing off was my dad.

On a society day I was hit flush in the back, my own fault as I was walking ahead. fortunately it hit me where my leather belt was so the sound was a lot worse than it felt.
The guy who hit me came running up apologising looking quite shocked I just said don't worry it was my fault for walking on in front. He kept telling everyone in the bar afterwards how hard I was not even flinching after being hit so hard.

I've never been hit but have hit someone else.

Was playing with my dad and 2 Uncles and one of the Uncles walked off in front as I went to play a lob shot. I proceeded to blade it and didn't have time to shout before it hit him in the back of the head. Luckily the cap strap softened the blow slightly, although did cut his head open and he hit the deck pretty hard. I felt awful and couldn't carry on, even though he did.

I was at the driving range with my brother and he was in the next bay. About 15 yards in front was a basket that you could chip in. I was watching him hit some drives and saw him hit a low hooky shot that rebounded off the top of the basket and flew straight at me. Saw it coming but didn't have enough time to move so it hit me square in the chest. My brother was very concerned laughing his ass off in the next bay.
