ICY wedge updates anyone?

In my case we did the first fitting using a mat at Iain's workshop, then three days later, after the wedges had been assembled , a further fitting using the short-game practice area at Kilworth Springs before returning to the workshop for final adjustments (grinding etc;) and personalisation, i.e. having Ol' Boy engraved upon them.

So less than a week for the whole process and none of the BS that you might sometimes experience with custom fit from the big manufacturers.

If you do come down and fancy a game whilst you are here give me a shout.

Cheers Dick i'll definitely take you up on that offer.

I think i'll give him a call and have a chat, the only issue i see is the possible 2 return journeys which isn't too appetising but they are nice looking wedges.

Just been to the ICY web site and saw they are or will be doing full iron sets and metals. The MB and CB irons he has pics of look gorgeous. If the irons perform half as well as the way owners of the wedges say they do, then the irons will be spectacular.

Think I might arrange a visit for a wedge fit, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I don't believe the CB/MBs are from the same source as the wedges. All blades look gorgeous to me! The CBs look just a tad 'fussy'; I prefer a 'clean line'/simplicity.

What we really need is to get enough North East interest (make it worthwhile) and have this guy travel to us......
Even with a garage full of wedges already....... Id still be up for that

Now that's a thought, Kraxx would be interested and I'd bet so would Hobbit and a few more from the NE society. I will add though, that with me travelling south at the end of the month for the 'New Golf Thinking' day, I may pop in on the way down, all depends on how much stuff I can flog on flea bay before then :)

Is the fitting on a grassed range area?

My fitting was done on the range and the grassed practice area. The follow up was done on the grass area. My original thread describing the process is here http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk/showthread.php?64169-ICYGOLF-Wedges&highlight=wedge

I saw both the blade and cavity irons when I was at Iain's workshop, they both look good. I know where the wedges come from, I'm not far away from them right now, I didn't ask him about the irons, but I suspect it is the same place.

He has some interesting putters too......

Definitely worth the visit and purchase.

Thanks to Iain Clarke today for his time and enlightenment. Very enjoyable day and revelation as well. Oh and the wedges.......... 53 58 parallel grips, with dynamic gold SL shafts and his magic grinds........ Nuff said.
