I thought I would try and do the right thing, take your advice and apologise for my behaviour.

I rung the Golf Club at lunch time today to come clean and to ask if I could apologise to the 4 ball that teed off before me and I was fully expecting a possible ban or at least a big telling off.

But to my amazement the manager told me not to worry about a thing because the four ball had apparently held up play all morning/afternoon and had rattled a lot cages - including the club captains.

I insisted that I wanted to apologise to the four ball but he told me that they have now been banned from the club (I think something quite big happened with the captain by all accounts).

Well done for offering. Not many would have had the guts to do that... I think the general consensus was that they were in the wrong, but that in your frustration, your actions were also wrong. We ALL do things we regret through frustration. The measure of a man (or woman) is how they react when they have done something wrong.

Well done, now if only you had went in after your round without doing what you done you could have held your head high.

Sincerely well done though on trying to apologise and hopefully you have learnt something from it.

Fair play mate. I gave you some stick for your bullish stance and I thought you were wrong in what you did and how you reacted on here but I'd like to apologise too. It takes a degree of humility to accept you made a mistake and try to rectify it. No idea what the four ball did. Perhaps the lady went ninja at the club captain when he asked to pay through

Thanks gents.

In my mind I justified my behaviour because I felt that I had been wronged but I shouldn't have done it.

I would like to say though, that the four ball were behind me to my right and I would never have hit the ball if they were level with me or in front if me.

Thank you to everyone that posted (quite a long thread in the end).

Happy golfing

Thank you Homer.

I would certainly like to think that she went Ninja.
