If someone in these circumstances said a flat no to me playing through then that would not be the end of the conversation. I would continue the discussion as civilly as possible until the outcome was the correct one and the person changed their mind. And I can assure you that they would change their mind.
Then play through and still go and have a word with the club manager or secretary about their behaviour.
Just barging through has got nothing whatsoever to do with common courtesy and however you choose to dress it up, it is out of order and not acceptable behaviour on a golf course.
