As you may remember I got a new Powakaddy FWII. I got it in American Golf and to be honest I got it for a good price.
When I bought it, I handed over mycash and AG membership card as they load all the info on that as way of keeping a record of your purchases .

I was in AG in Inverness and was buying a couple of gloves and used my membership card and asked what the last purchase was and to my surprise it was my shoes and NOT a PK. I am now wondering if the fly bugger who sold it has pocketed my cash and left me without a guarantee.

What do you think I should do?

I was told the guarantee on anything you buy is on the system in case you don't have a receipt. I'd go back to the original store and ask the question otherwise you might not be 100% covered if anything happens to the powercaddy.

call the store. it was prob an admin/system error. they're not going to get rich by turning people over on guarantees. besides, they'd only take it up with PK anyway so would never actually lose out.

you should still have a guarantee and warranty under PK? you may have to register the details of your trolley.

I have just been in the store and there is no record of the sale on the till. The guy I spoke to was on the day I bought it and helped me carry it to my car but can't recall it. He said he will call me later today regarding the "error" but I could see the colour drain from his face.

I guess I wait and see what excuses they come up with. I think a call to their area manager may be required.

So you didn't get a receipt and they pretended to swipe your AG loyalty card, then you gave them a wad of cash.

Hmmm, looks like there stock takes going to be a Powakaddy short.

Sounds like the bloke is a right thieving git.

Tell him unless he gets you a new driver, fairways, Irons, wedges & putter, all in a nice tour-bag, that you will rat him out :D

On a serious note I would be onto their head office like a shot.

So you DIDN'T get a receipt? WHY???

I know this sounds daft but for the last couple of years I have put all my purchases on my AG Members card which gives me a stronger link to them should I lose the receipt. It is a hub that logs all the details of a sale thus tracing any guarantees my equipment should have.

The serial number of the cart can be tracked by Powakaddy as one provided to AG.

This is another reason to avoid that place. We already knew that they will sell you any old crap they have in stock whether it suits you or not, now we know that some of them are crooks too.

Report to Trading Standards. HMRC might also be interested in under the table deals.

LHC, I have grown used to it going onto m card and never for a moment thought the scally would swipe the money. I am waiting for their area manager calling me.

Ethan, if I dont get answers quickly I will be looking at going through their head office.

Well, no, I don't suppose anyone expects that to happen, I'm just wondering how, in the absence of a receipt and no record on their system how you prove you did actually buy it from them?
