Well, I succumbed in the end

I've ordered the JPX850 Forged with the Nippon regular shaft, 5 to p/w and a 51* gap wedge in black with my initials on (CAD), Tour Velvet grips and one layer of tape. Standard lie and length

The clincher - someone let me have a hit of their full set on the range and they all went really well - do I need another excuse?

Nice one Chris- I hope you enjoy them!!!!

Only thing is- I don't think they are as strong (loft wise) than your current irons. Do they go a little shorter?

I would love new clubs, I only have 13 ATM and I am thinking of slapping in a 60*.

Either that or I totally redo the top end of my bag, replacing my 2h, 4 and 5 irons with 4 clubs between my 6i and 3 wood.

thanks Dave

No they are shorter in length and up to 2* less lifted, but they still go a decent distance. The pro has agreed a free gapping session when they arrive.

Let's hope they go well for the Gainsborough meet as we'll be on the same team. I look forward to seeing you again Dave!

to coin one of Harry Hills old catch phrases...... "what are the chances of that happening"

Actually it was a close call. The pro spent about 2 hours helping me find the right shaft etc and testing to see that I would hit better dispersion and look at the different flights with several shafts.

It was only when I found someone with a full set of the clubs who let me have a hit right through the set to see how each club went that I finally ordered. Contrast that to my Callaways where I hit the demo 6 iron on the course and took the set off the shelf!
And the decision had nothing to do with my 9 on a par 3 today either!!

Reckon you'll be following Chris into new shiney territory it's only a matter of time until you succumb although you are lasting longer than Chris. ;) enjoy the new shineys.

He's not lasting longer, I did a Callaway fitting earlier than the Forum Titleist day! :whoo:
