...we had the Stone Cup at the club this weekend. It's two rounds stableford and I shot 79-82 for 73pts. I've just found out the shocking double bogey I made on the last in my 2nd round when I took 5 to get down from 100yds cost me victory. 37 pts on the day would have seen me tied on 75pts and winning on countback and I'm a little bit gutted. I'm consoling myself with the fact everyone else probably has similar tales of woe.

To top it off, it would also have got me another 0.2 cut to add to the 0.4 I got on Saturday. Still, my h'cap is down to 10.9 and I'm edging slowly closer to my single figure target and 79-82 is pretty good scoring in the windy conditions.

Every cloud blah blah blah
At least you didn't have to make a speech :)

You probably forgot to worry about your own game as you were on suicide watch playing with Homer :D

LMFAO!!! :D Judging by his latest blog post I think Homer has at least put his game quitting agenda to bed.

Hawkeye I play with a great chap called Bernie. Every Saturday we recollect our rounds, where it all went wrong and run through a veritable plethora of ifs, buts and maybes. His stock retort is always "if my Auntie had balls she'd be my uncle".

You played well, you got cut but you were beaten on the day by a better man. Perhaps it's more galling that it happened on the last hole of the second day but if it had been the first hole of day one you wouldn't be beating yourself up about it. Well done on your play in tough conditions. Now go and give Homer a hug (I think he needs one more than you :D ;) )
