:rofl:went along met Roland the mizzy boy and came away with the mizzy mp 650 hybrid 19 degrees and the red eye shaft and regular on order. made the mistake of last night reading that it sits open but i hit nice and stats should 10 yard increase. but thought can i try the dna swing thing. swung away and he told me my irons should be stiff. i didnt have my irons with me but he describe my flight.!!!!1 money wise cant justify new irons but has got me thinking, but in a positive way and not in a golf destroying way.

i did try a couple of stiff shafts in the hybrid but not suitable, tried both reg shafts and the one that i got felt heavier and nicer to hit. quite chuffed i could tell the difference. suddenly im taking my golf that wee bit serious

I assume you arent very consistent with your reg iron shafts? if not dont change. The swing dna is an indicator thats all, theres lots of other factors to consider, young fit blokes will nearly always swing over 85mph and nearer 90mph so the swing dna fitter then recommends stiff only. 3 swings cant determine everyones perfect shaft in my opinion, but then again, what do I know

no doubt about my regs, im not a consistent hitter but getting there. i like the height with my irons as i like the parachute drop into the greens. but it did get me wondering but that will be at least winter before i start thecrawing sorry meant tinkering with shafts. i really like my mx200 heads. i did see the figure 84 and 86 he then said i should be stiff. i replied the clubs excite me but thats too far:whistle:. the dna is a gud bit of kit and is only a starting point to 2 or 3 suitable shafts

To be fair the DNA thing is a crock of sh..., you get the picture.

It measures nothing other than swing speed. Its as Darth says an indication only. Ball speed is the be all and end all, the most important factor in determining a shaft.

if joe bloggs can go in swing it about and be recomended 3 shafts by mizuno , that is a bloody good STARTING point in my eyes. am stilling thinking about shafts and ball flights. and googling away here:rolleyes:

Big, you need to go on Trackman. With an independent specialist through your way, that have access to more shafts. Its all about the shafts dude. I hit loads of clubs straight @ AG on the range. It wasn't until i got on Trackman, then i could see what was going on. OMG it was an eye opener. Best of luck fella.

My take on shaft flex.

I have recently had a change in shaft (..... and head) and have noticed that my iron play is much more consistant.

I've gone from a 90g shaft to a 127g shaft (TM's T-Step 90 to True Temper DG R300) and have noticed an immediate difference. Both are regular flex but the TT DG is quite a bit heavier.

My iron play had always been one of my strong points, and since the change to TT DG shafts is got alot better. My ball flight is lower and more penetrating and, probably just a mental thing but the ball seems to be flying longer, even though the ball flight is a little lower.
