Any recommendations for a hybrid that's great out of the rough? Love the g20 but it gets a bit tangled up in the deep stuff, maybe the iron type design. Looking for a 4 hybrid ideally 21 or 22 degrees.

Try the original TM Rescue Mid!

I'm happy with the 19* for versatility, but maybe the next one up could be better, depending on whether you want to simply get it out with a bit more distance than an 8 iron gives or don't want to compromise on distance!

Of course, staying out of the tough stuff in the first place is a better idea, but......!

Adams DHY

Honestly

They are fantastic off the Tee, deck or longer stuff. Get the ball airborne no issues and go like a bazooka

A pal of mine last week nearly smashed his ball in rough with an hybrid, at the last second he changed to a nine iron an bladdered it 100-120 yd, then he got his hybrid and put it 15ft from the pin. I said to him you would not of been able to bladder that hybrid from the rough and then play a nine iron to the green.

Yep, I have an old school TM rescue dual 25 degree, it gets me out of most things

How to properly use a rescue club from the rough. play it too shallow won't work.

I have a great deal of success with my G15 out of the rough, so much so my 913H is stuck in my locker. TBH I see it as my 'golfing super power', a result of my incredibly steep angle of attack. Haven't played with anyone as good in this respect. Obviously there are limits in terms of depth of rough.

100 yards with a wedge leaves an easier next shot from the short stuff.
5-10 yards with a hybrid still leaves 200 from the cabbage

Take your punishment

I was in this camp, but then watched the video that Gary posted and I'll be giving that a go. I've never been able to hit a hybrid out of rough - steep I can do but I'd never thought of opening the face up too.

I wasn't really sure why they called them rescue clubs as I always tended to get snagged up. eye opener video.

Felt a bit silly as that is the kind of swing you would use when trying to hack out of really thick stuff with a wedge. same principle.
