Hurdle #1 - Cleared!

Finally broke 18, I'm now 17.5 !! After languishing and bouncing around the low 18's for 2 months, I'm finally on my way to my target of 15 by the end of the summer season, I managed a 3rd place, 38 point round yesterday. With the CSS being 72, this gave me a 0.6 cut from my previous 18.1.

It was a cracking round - 6 pars on the back 9 meant a very respectable 22 points... What could have been though! Two No Returns on the front 9 cost me 4 points probably, and a couple of bad course management decisions taking an extra 2 points. I also putted awfully on the first 5 holes, with 4 or them being 3 putts, I think I had 6 or 7 across the 18 holes !!

Still, its a platform, and thats what I needed. I know I can hold on to the 17's, and even get another 0.6 off, if I can get my putting consistent, so thats what I'll work on next.

Like you say its a platform and you've clearly recognised course management issues. Get those sorted and maybe tidy up the short game and I'm sure you can get to your target.

Well done mate. Have the same target to get down to 15 by the end of the summer season. Currently on 18.1 started from 22 but looking like time may be running out for me.

Keep at it and sure you can do it.
