Humble Pie

I was watching Tim on the range beforehand and he was mullering it. Really wanted him to boom his 1st tbh, I can definitely vouch for wobbly legs on the 1st tee, its bloody awful :)

Tim. I always liked you despite your unconventional approach to the forum and topics.
Now you've posted this, I think in time you'll become a forum legend....not that you needed to make your mark!

Good man!

Well done Tim, hopefully its whetted your appetite for more Meets.

Also hopefully we will not be getting more threads on your practice on the range, and some on your play on the course. ;)

Yeah, well done Tim.

I seriously thought you you were a wind up merchant. However, it seems you're actually a golfer, and one with more humility than Mr Woods it seems. If you're ok by the lads accounts then you can't be bad at all. As such, you have my respect for turning up and giving it your best.

Now get some lag in that swing! Good man.

;)

Well done tim for going (I had no doubt as I did explain to the forum before that you were a real person!!) next time I think you should play 18 holes per round as your score would be much better ;)

Dont worry about your game Tim, you hit some awesome shots, it was a tough course and a tough wind yesterday !! It was a pleasure to meet you and have a game yesterday.

So he comes onto the forum, talks pish….well sometimes....and now he’s the man of the hour just because he turned up. Until I meet this guy, put him to the test, I for one will not be sooking up his ass. Well someone has to be different eh. :p

Well done Tim. Hopefully you'll iron out any problems in time for Luton Hoo.

As others have said, the points total was nothing to be ashamed of.

Even though it's only 5,900 off the yellows it's by no means easy, and with the wind as well it was damage limitation from the start.

Of the 46 scores recorded, only 12 of them were 30 or better. No-one played to their handicap for either round, and the average of the 46 scores recorded was 25.7 points.

Tim played off of 16 (I made it up).

Last years captain was telling us that they've recently had 4 rounds over 2 competitions of top amateur golf, and only 1 round better than par was recorded over the whole 4 rounds.

Oh yeah, even though the 371 yarder on 18 was downhill and downwind, it was still huge.

Apparently I'm not a short hitter, and I went for it with everything off the tee and caught it well. I was 40yds behind where Tim's ball finished.

Ok guys now im going to be very honest and tell you all about Tim371golfy as he now wants to be known as.Before that i would just like to thank Gary for the organization,my playing partners Rickg, aztecs,Tim,and paul[pk]in the afternoon. We rolled up at MCDS 8 ish and i couldnt believe my eyes when someone pointed out Tim,i envisaged him as young, loud and full of himself[and i was ready to shoot him down]however he was older, quiet, and very polite and a very decent bloke to talk to.Now to the Morning round.Tim must have been nervous,as most of us were on our first meet.Out came a rescue wood,15 whooshes later, oops, head up,topped it in the sh-t.He was given a 16 hcp for the day, after the first 5 blobs it could have been 36,well on the 6th low and behold his first point, and if it wasnt for rick constantly reminding him he had no points and he would get his first 1 soon it probably would of happened sooner. With the first point on the board he started to relax and hit some decent shots and racked up a massive 6 points on the front nine.Back 9 so much better 16 points and he was starting to strike the ball better.Sand and Tim dont mix[needs a lesson]and if i had to be honest Tim is not a massive hitter, and i think he now knows the range and the course are two different animals. All in all he has potential, and if he took some advice and a few lessons there is definately a golfer in there somewhere.Tim well done well played and good luck and i for one would definately play with you again as would all the guys you played with.

So you only hit it 331 yards Gary. Good job it was not the longest drive hole, or we would never have heard the end of it. ;) ;)

Hopefully Tim will become a regular player on the forum circuit.

Ever heard of the ENTER key mate? ;)

Agree wholeheartedly with what you said though. Was a pleasure to play with you yesterday. (you're still a knob though ;))
