How would you rather blob an easy par 4???????

I'd rather carve it OOB, and then make par with the 2nd ball.

On Saturday I was in the process of rescuing a poor front 9 with a good back 9, was possibly on course to buffer then I messed up 18....best drive of the day left me 100yds, fat wedge short of the green, chipped it way too hard left 30ft for par...3 putts later I was firmly in the 0.1 club.

Ouch that's a kick in the plums :D

I remember playing in a club match and on our third the guy drove the green - I said to him the second worst thing in golf is driving the green then three putting - he three putted :D

Three holes later he was on a par 5 in two - I then told he the the worst thing in golf is getting on a par 5 in two then three putting - he three putted :D

His playing partner was doubled over with laughter ( it's a very friendly club match ) - the guy just couldn't putt on that one day and his PP just kept laughing at him - was a great laugh
Surprised he didn't say that playing with you is the third worst thing in golf.

Our SI 17 is a par 4 and just under 300 yards. Out of bounds all down the right, a ditch running across 80% of the front of the green and if you hook it then OOB again. The decent hitters either land it on the green or feed it on through the 20% of the green that is not protected. One lad has even had 2 hole in ones on it.

I have only ever reached it off the tee once (gale force wind behind) and managed to 5 putt it.

I tend to hit the fairway with a 3 wood and then pull the wedge way left and OOB from there before shanking the next ball into the clag between the 3rd and 4th fairways and duffing the pitch I need to hole into the bunker. Easy peasy
it doesn't help with the ball being 15ft above our feet for the second shots when I aim right of the green expecting it to draw in I hit it bullet straight hahaha. It should be an easy birdie hole but never is.

Where you playing your second from??? There's not that much of a slope..........well until you get to the green and that's a different feast of consequences

18th hole Belton Woods Lakes Course, Par 5, only needing 1 point to win the trophy and I've got a shot on the hole, a 7 will be good enough so I'm thinking no problem.

Hit a great drive but decide that the safe option is to lay up short of the pond in front of the green. Pull out a 7 iron and shank it. Now on the 10th fairway of the Woodside course. Decide to be sensible and not go for the green so pitch back onto the correct fairway. Take out a 9 iron and shank another one. Behind a tree now so have to pitch sideways back onto fairway just short of the pond. Take out the pitching wedge and shank it straight over the pond and OOB in the buggy park.

Also saw my stepbrother totally lose it on the 10th hole of the Lakes Course. Hit his drive into the right rough and then put his second into the lake in front of the green. He then lost the plot and had a real Tin Cup moment as he proceeded to drop and hit another 6 or 7 balls into the lake one after another. The only thing that stopped him was the fact that he ran out of balls.

You're not LIG in disguise are you???
He did that on the 5th at Gainsborough. Rifled a lovely 3 wood to get home in two, and proceeded to 5 jerk it....
Oh how we laughed
:whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

That hole owes me one this year. Grrrr!

Playing in a comp with my mate and he was in the greenside bunker for 2 playing off 18 h/c and finished the hole with a 17!!

He tried on every shot and only one putt!!

Stroke play, so not sure whether it counts on thus thread as a blob!

I 5-putted our first from inside 20ft for a 7 once.

1st putt ran 5 feet past, ran the return 3 feet past on the other side and lipped out with the 3rd. Blood was starting boil, so I tried to backhand one on with the back of an Odyssey 2ball. Needless to say, the ball came off at an angle and slid past the hole, leaving me a 3 inch putt that I marked before tapping in.

My mate couldn't control himself.
