How would you rather blob an easy par 4???????

Our 4th hole 300yard 100yard wide fairway my prefered tee shot is snap hook left 7 iron oob or if I do find the fairway hooking my second shot with a wedge or 9 iron oob. I'd prefer 2 snap hooks off the tee as I have the 300 yard walk to calm down :)

Sometimes the easy ones turn out to be the hardest!!
Lost count of how many times I've blobbed the SI 18 hole and walked off the SI 1 with a flukey par.

That shows your mind set on what you call an easy hole just because the stroke index says it is does not mean it is . Stroke index is really for matchplay , very rare is the 18th stroke 1 . Your mindset should be the same for all the holes , if you hit a bad shot then a bad shot it is and not a mental thing

I think you have missed the point, this thread is a bit of fun, nothing serious :rolleyes:

The Tigers Woods method. Nice.

My thoughts exactly.....if it's good enough for a club hacker then it's good enough for the 2nd best player ever :D

I actually had a good(bad) one last week on a not so easy par 4. 30 yards short in 2, hit behind ball with chip and knock it 15 yards, thinned next chip through the green, duff another chip, finally on in 6 and 2 putt for an 8!

Well you totally messed that one up!! Every golfer knows that all good disasters end with a 3 putt :D

Since we're 'sharing', one of my finest blobs (there have been many) began with a peachy long drive on our 16th hole right up the middle, an inauspicious start for a blob. The 16th is the one with the crazy double hump green for those who know it. Summertime and dry I attempted to putt on from 40 ft, then attempted to putt on again from through the back which was where my first attempt finished. Then back on the front side of the green again playing 4 it finally stopped on the dance floor. Three stabs later the blob was secured. A fine drive and 6 (count'em and weep) putts for a blob to remember.

I know that.
But it's very rare to come up against a par 4 of 300 yards with anything less than say SI 14.
As I play off 13, I wouldn't be shotting. So my idea of an "easy" hole had no bearing on the stroke index, more the "lack of difficulty" of the hole.

My method of choice at the moment is a lovely drive straight down the middle then a thinned wedge missing the green a chip and a three putt

I tend to hit the fairway with a 3 wood and then pull the wedge way left and OOB from there before shanking the next ball into the clag between the 3rd and 4th fairways and duffing the pitch I need to hole into the bunker. Easy peasy

Same here.. had just drove the green too, walked off with a bogey 5 :rofl:

I wasn't laughing at the time though ;)

Ouch that's a kick in the plums :D

I remember playing in a club match and on our third the guy drove the green - I said to him the second worst thing in golf is driving the green then three putting - he three putted :D

Three holes later he was on a par 5 in two - I then told he the the worst thing in golf is getting on a par 5 in two then three putting - he three putted :D

His playing partner was doubled over with laughter ( it's a very friendly club match ) - the guy just couldn't putt on that one day and his PP just kept laughing at him - was a great laugh

My current favourite is our 10th hole

Beautiful drive;
easy 8 iron into LH greenside bunker;
thinned wedge into lip, & back into sand;
thinned wedge into opposite greenside bunker;
splash out halfway to 10 ft;
putt to 1 inch short;
retrieve putter from hedge.

Easy. And repeatable

Three putt par is right up there with a three foot birdie par i'd say :D

Hopefully be lots of one putts at b&b :whoo:
