You have very little chance of connecting properly with a 3 iron. Especially if it's a blade. Many people find hybrids easier to hit.

I think, on balance, either a 5 or 6 iron would give the best results.
Enough mass in the head to get the job done, enough length in the shaft to deliver sufficient swing speed and maintain social distancing and, for most of us, a slightly open face on the follow through would lead to a very open face on contact.

Are you sure? The NHS website thinks there hasn't been a single reported case of SARS since 2004.
