playing the jubilee on thursday followed by kings acre & royal burgess on friday & saturday.
trip from sunny dublin with society.
how tough is the jubilee for a mid handicapper lads? :D

I played it with a few guys from the forum and Golf Monthly staff about 18 months ago and loved it. The views are good and the course is tough but fair. Easy birdie holes on 6,7 and 8 (well I did it ;)more luck than judgement ) My only criticism is a huge one :::::

It is too close to The Old Course and no matter how good it is you still pine to be playing The Old.

Madandra gives a fair comment on it, it is really tough when its a howling gale and lashing down (oh memories)but lets hope its not like that for you :D :D :D

To be fair Atticus and myself used the driver on most par 4's and 5's but perhaps the rough is a bit longer than it was in January 08.

The fish supper in the clubhouse was hanging over the sides of the plate and more importantly it was beautiful.

I agree Andy to a point but the jub is a great track.I rate it as the best track of the 3 real courses, altho I would play Old every time if I had a choice the Jubilee is the best test of golf and the last 5 holes are up there with the toughest stretch of finishing holes anywhere.

Alan I haven't had the pleasure of playing The Old Course yet but its my birthday next week and have dropped plentyof hints to the Mrs. I loved the Jube and will play it again but feel I would be unfaithful to the Old course so I will wait until I have played that first.

Andy you will love it I am sure.I defy any golf purists not to enjoy the Old,played there a dozen times and would gladly play my final round there then have my final session in the town!Superb...

The closing stretch at the Jube is a killer. Birdieman and I didn't manage a par between us on the last four when we played. I have to say the rest is fair, though. I was very errant off the tee that day and still managed 8 pars. I wouldn't like to have to play it in a stiff breeze, though. It's fairly long and there's lots of gorse to mess with the brain. Cracking course.
