with the worst putting display since I got my V easy.

Hole 1 halved
Hole 2 missed a 2 foot putt for the win
Hole 3 won, 1 up
Hole 4 3 putt lose hole to a single putt All square
Hole 5 six foot putt to win, took 3 to lose it 1 down
Hole 6 halved
hole 7 3 putts to lose hole to single putt 2 down
Hole 8 a mess, lose hole 3 down
Hole 9 win 2 down
Hole 10 halfed
Hole 11 I'm on fringe in 3 she is on green in 5, she holes 12 footer, I take 3.
Hole 12 miss 3 foot for win missed
Hole 13 won, 1 down
Hole 14 halved
then I make a mess of 15 and 16 to lose 3&2, but with even average putting I should have won by the 14th possible even the 13th.

Feeling a bit gutted to be honest, but it just shows the benfefit of good putting, I think I holed only one put over 2 feet, and 3 putt or took 3 from the fringe on about 5 holes, my partner never 3 putted and often got down with a chip and a putt a couple of over 10 ft, which I never did.

Hard luck. Good putting is gold. I will never forget losing a juniors match 1 down on the 18th to a guy who hit the ball nowhere but holed bombs all day - he must have holed close to 10 20+ foot putts during the round, including a few huge ones. On the 18th we both had about 30 feet, he went first and calmly knocked it in - sure enough I missed to lose. I played well all day and would have been under my handicap for the round but could not compete (and probably got rattled by) his putting. Probably close to the best strength to have psychologically in matchplay in my opinion. It is demoralising to repetitively reach the green completely on top but to then come away with a half or worse.

might have been the pressure of matchplay, Junior, although not really had that problem before, just a bad day at the office or maybe it should have thrown it down instead of being dry.
