Bought a 2nd hand odyssey 2ball putter putter off eBay but not sure if it's real or not. What are the things to look for?

There is a serial number on the sole but the grip is a bit suspicious.

Grips are easily changed for aftermarket versions - post a few pics and us resident experts will cast our eyes over your new purchase.......

Looks legit to me! An older model by the looks of the insert and White Hot writing (newer white hot putters have the odyssey symbol and the latest version have the word PRO).

I still play with a white hot 2 ball and have had a dfx black version too..... I call genuine - looks fine to me

Thanks guys this has put my mind at ease a bit. I thought it was an offer too good to be true. The putter is in great condition for an older model. Still might get the serial number checked tho.

Yes, looks good to me - often the wording in the grip is poor on a fake but that looks good quality.

Always worth checking with manufacturer though.

Iv got the newer model of that , I don't recall mine having a serial number on the sole?? Maybe mines is a fake, lol

Don't read too much into that - Callaway/Odyssey have only been putting serial numbers on drivers for about a year now....

the Odyssey two ball are fakes are hard to spot.

A mate of mine had one. He took it into a pro shop to see if they could get a new round bit fitted as it had fallen out. Pro sent it off and a few weeks later it came back the pro tells my mate, "its a Fake you need to get it back to the place you got it!!!!"

"I am, i got it SH from you":)

Mind you the tight bugger still uses it, even cut a round bit out of his recycling bin lid to go in it, and got his money back:)

What does this prove? Surely anyone who takes the trouble to fake a putter can fake a genuine serial number. Or can the manufacturer tell you who they supplied it to?

yes, they gave me the history of one I bought a few months ago that didnt have the same writing on the sole as 'normal' putters. They told me it was a demo putter supplied to X PGA professional at X pro shop in X- so it put my mind at rest and assured me I had a special putter.

I've just got an odyssey metal x #2 with no serial number on the bottom - every other metal x style ive seen have got a number on the sole - bought from a reputable source so I know it's not a fake , I just take it some have serial numbers some don't.

That's interesting. Didn't know that. Very helpful of the manufacturer.
