How often do you change your irons...

I started playing properly in 2009.

Original AP2 - 2 years
Nike Pro Combo - 1 year
Mizuno MP-69 - 4 years
716 AP2 - 1 year and counting

Current set coming up to 4.5 years - got a through the bag fitting booked at Golf Principles coming up so suspect something will give through the bag !

I think you keep them as long as they work well for your game at whatever level that is, skill level same, up or down, psychological etc.

Seeing mates with all those nice new shiny bits of kit certainly makes mine look aged but they work well and some of them 6 months later do not seem to have got to grips with their new toys.

Of course if money were no object I would have changed by now - but it isn't.

I am avoiding blaming the change or irons for my loss of distance with them! I know deep down its my swing changes bedding in but a part of me is like Oh I could hit my old irons much nicer

it will come

Weird however I get days where I cant hit a Game improvement iron but my bladed vokey wedges.. never shank

Been playing 3 and a half years and had, deep breath.
PING G2 and I20.
TM tp cb.
Cleveland cg16, 588 tt and 588 CB(current clubs and love them!)
Mizuno mp58, 67 and 15.
Callaway X tour forged and X forged 2013.
Wilson fg tour v4.
Titleist 712 ap2 and 712 mb.
Cobra s3 pro.
Adams a12 pro, wish I never sold them.
So just under every 3 months:rofl:but I do enjoy tinkering and feel I know exactly what I do and do not like now through on course trial and error in differing conditions which I would never have gained through a demo day on a range or fitting off a mat.

I want to change my clubs on a weekly basis as manufacturers bring more and more shiny clubs out for me to covert. In reality, I haven't changed for a few years now and still have my I25's in the bag. I am trying to be good and not change for changing sake but those new Ping iron and wedges are testing my resolve to breaking point

Started playing about 2.5 years ago.

Started with Taylormade RBZ tours which i used for 1 year

Then I changed to Ping g25's and won 2 tournaments within a month, kept them for a season.

Now im on callaway xr pro's and I just won our winter league last week.

I think I need to change more often!

Just starting my 6th year of playing and I'm on my 5th set 😜

Ping Eye Beryllium
Ping K15
Ping G20
Mizuno MP52
TM RSi TP

On the look out for my 6th set 😜🤔🏌️

Started playing 8 years ago

Had three sets

1. For 2 years was a set of Nike Ignites
2. TM R9's for about 6 months
3. The last 6 years a set of Taylor Made TPMC

Let's see now.
titleist dci,
taylormade burners,
nike covert (graphite),
nike covert (steel),
taylormade sldr,
ap1 714,
ap1 716.

Picked the dci's from gumtree for £20. Got hooked (2013) and Struggled to break 100 until late 2015 (sldr), swapped them for the 714 last January and started breaking 90 over summer. Only got the 716 courtesy of the AG offer.

Hoping to have the set set til the 718's come out at least!

My iron history were

Junior set age like 10-14

First adult set (texan classics lol) 15-24 (stopped playing at 17 due to breaking my elbow into 20 pieces)

24-29 Ping G15s

now age of 29 and a bit.. Titleist 716 AP1s

Ive been playing since 2013. Started with Nike Machspeed irons, changed to X hot pro irons and for the last 2 years my SLDR Irons. Tried a set of JPX850 forged but didnt like them. I really want to try the Srixon Z565/765 range as i love the look of them but im playing well with the SLDR irons at the moment.

Sstarted playing in 1994

Howson Arena (kids set)
Titleist DCI black triangle
TopFlite Tour (S300)
Srixon Pro-100 (5.5 rifle)
Mizuno Mp68 (KBS stiff)
Mizuno Mp4 (KBS X)

Started playing in 2011 and bought a set of Calloway X22 (2nd hand) followed by a new set of Cobra Amps from AG. Present set was custom fit from Precision Golf and not even vaguely tempted in changing.

However, if this thread was on putters and drivers my list would be a) considerably longer and b) likely to get longer.....

My first proper set was Ping Eye 2's complete with wooden woods ............. and I still have the lot!
Then it was Ping Zing 2's for about 12 or 13 years and upgraded to my current set of TM R11's in 2009ish.
I don't change too often.
