How many sets of irons have you owned ?

Golden Bear starter set
Mizuno MX23's
Several years of not playing...................then...
Callaway X Forged
Another set of MX23's
Mizuno JPX800 Pro's

I know it's not a competition nor am I proud of the fact but within the last year alone I think I have owned eight sets:- Callaway X22 Tour, Macgregor VIP's, Bridgestone J33, Mizuno MP52, Mizuno MX950, Srixon ZTX, Cleveland CG1 Tour, & finally Mizuno MP58.

Overall it must be over 50 sets; what a plonker!

Wilson X31
Titleist DCI
Mizuno MP11
Tommy Armour 855s Silver Scot
Ben Hogan Apex
MacGregor 1025 MC

The Wilsons were damaged on Dublin Airport, I sold the Titleists and Hogans and still own and play the MacGregors and Mizunos

Since 1989...

Howson 1/2 set of ladies something or others (I was a junior)
Ping Eye 2s.

That's it.

I cannot believe how many sets some of you have got through!

First clubs were a half set of Slazenger California by Johnny Miller followed by

a set of STIX (Ping copies, and knicked from my car fortunately as I couldn't play for toffee with them)
Slazenger XTC (still have these and used by my son until last month)
Cobra FP's (still have these, used until last May, and now by my son)
Ping G15's currently in full swing.

So 5 sets in total over 30 years or so.

Not including various half sets I played with as a lad, since about 1978 I've played:

Dunlop Peter Thomson blades
Macgregor JNP forged cavities
Mizuno TP21 forged cavities
Mizuno MP30
Mizuno MX23
Mizuno MX25

Only retired the TP21s in 2009.

Since restarting golfing some 4 years ago I have owned:

- No names (or rather can't remember the name)
- Dunlop with graphite shafts (6&7 irons fell off ... 30 mins arguing got a refund)
- MD Superstrong Forged (lovely feel but rusty, only used for 6 weeks)
- TM RAC OS (nice but too chunky and poor condition)
- Srixon i601 (almost new when i got them mega cheap, have since been spined and loft/lie corrected)
- TM Burner TP (wrong shafts for me, but nice to try them for a couple rounds)

So that's I've had my Srixons for 3 seasons now, and have been toying with the idea of getting a new set of irons this year (job permitting).
