1st set around 10 years ago second-hand Big Bertha Tungsten/Titanium, then late 2003 got brand new Callaway Fuiions until last summer current set of Mizuno MP53. I plan to keep them until I am good enough to get some MP68/9 etc (so that will be never !!!)

Scottjd1 you'd be surprised how easy it is to hit mp 69's, try a demo next time at the range

Yes I've used them and they are fine although they are currently in the shed and the mx25's are in the bag.

Wilson irons (cant remember the make they were from argos though)
Titleist ones (my grandads hand me downs)
King cobra oversized
And my current set titleist Ap1's which i love

Since April 2011

Cobra S2 Max-still have them in the cupboard but I hit them stupidly high.
Ping G10-Lasted about a week and hated the feel off the face. I brought before I tried, lesson learned.
Burner 2.0- Had for a month and feel the same as my Cobras but with more distance and lower ball flight.

4 if you count the odds and sods my parents bought me for £25 from the local paper. I then had a set of wilsons but don't remember the model, Cally X12s and my S59s which may soon be replaced by a set of Titleists.

I have surprised myself here as I thought I had owned fewer sets than this but here we are....

In 31 years of golf I have had the following irons:

McGregor Tourney - pretty good as a starter set
Ping Eye - long and easy to hit. Went from 20 handicap to 8 with these in one summer
Titleist Tour Model Forged - Lovely until you mishit one
Tommy Armour 845 - probably the longest irons I have owned
TM Tour Preferred - unmemorable
McGregor DoctorX - ugly as sin and excellent
Maxfli A10 - pretty poor
Callaway X-16 Pro - nicest irons I have had I would say

I had forgotten about the TA, TM and Maxfli irons until I recalled this list! Definitely unmemorable clubs... there may have been a set between the TA and TM too but I can't remember what.

I had no idea that I was such a club junkie! The folly of youth.......
