Just happened to notice that a few forummers sigs show membership of 2, sometimes 3, clubs. Who is a member of more than one club and why?

Probably because they want too I'd imagine!

Coastal course for winter etc, holiday golf course, great value membership offers et .

Some clubs do an away membership. Sheringham do 1 I think. You have to live at least 60 miles away and be a member of another club but for £400 you get a full membership. I think Felixstowe Ferry do 1 as well.

I'm a Full (not country) Member of Two clubs, used to have 3 but just didn't get to play the other that much after moving jobs.

My Nairn Membership is my home course and now play most of my golf there.

Tain, I keep now for the recp rounds which include 6 rounds a Dornoch, 3 Brora, 3 Golpies, 3 Fortrose plus 5 others all for £10 summer and £5 winter. I play there sundays if i'm free and opens as the css is usually high so better chance of a cut at Tain if you play ok.

Both courses are links but i was a member of a parkland course as well but found that a bit easy and css was always 2 or 3 shots under the course par.

Golf up here is Relatively cheap i get two top links for under £1000. and year round golf;)

Full member of two clubs currently. Kilbirnie place, finished paying by direct debit in Nov, membership expires March. Vale of Leven - joined Nov on a 16 months for the price of 12, dont start paying until March. Not renewing at KPGC due to having moved house during the season - bit too far for a quick 9 now.

Used to holiday regularly on Arran and almost took out country membership of the course I played there. It was around £130 for a fortnight ticket and only £125 for country membership at that time. As Patrick says, golf up here is a different kettle of fish to down south.

3 Full membership at 1 Parkland, Pay and play at a links for the winter and country membership at my home club which i think i will give up i don't use it enough.

Where I work we can pay £200 a year to enter a company scheme that allows 7 day play at the local course. Its just social golf, no handicap registration, comp entry, etc.

My proper home club is even closer to where I live and that is where I play comps and hold a handicap cert. There I just pay and play no annual subscription. I cant justify that because I play most of my social golf at the other track.

Think it must be different in the north.

Im moving to the Shetland where ill be joining the most northerly 18 hole course in Britian (Whalsay) - first year £100
Country Memembership at Shetland Golf Course on the mainland - £125
My old course in Falkirk (The Tryst) for £125 which ill play when im back visiting family throught the year.

Best way to spend £350 if you ask me

Just trying to get my head around this.

Fees say about £100 pa. ? 2/3/400 members paying that so £20/30/40,000 in members fees income a year. Down south, that would pay for 1 green keeper and his dog whereas most courses in this area would have/need 5/6/7 green keeping staff.

There again, I suppose that if you have enough sheep, a shepherd and a dog or two, and little daylight then you don't need many other hired hands.

:whistle::whistle:

100 for the first year then up to 190 in the second year. Google whalsay golf club for a look. Nightmare when the wind picks.

Whats the saying "why have a sheep and baa yourself".

Member of 3 courses, anything to keep me out the house:whoo:

Links golf is good for the winter, never missed a weekends golf this winter:one:
