How many balls do you usually go through in a season? I've just bought 2 dozen and wondering how long I can expect them to last, in all likelihood I'll be buying more sooner rather than later.

I've noticed some competitions where you can win a season's worth of balls, typically 6 dozen. Is this about right?

I brought 48 Pro V1's before the start of last season (..... Around January). After playing all last year, a few away days thrown in for good measure, plus winter practice and I still have 22 left.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get around to opening the 6 dozen spon new ones I have gathering dust.

Bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question that one!

I throw more balls away nowadays than I lose (really shouldn't say that on a Friday) - I used to set myself a limit of 3 good balls per round after that I'd put a lake ball in play (14+ water hazards at my last place & I've seen people go through a dozen in a round)

Depends on the course you're playing - lot's of water? deep rough? - and your own game!

I like to play good ball in comps and away days. ill knock battered pro v's around when playing my home course though.

absolutely no idea - haven't bought a ball for years.

more relevant, so much will depend on the nature of the course - we have 2 par 3's with the green next to a lake (one in front, one right) as well as many more water carries/avoidance/did I mention water? - so it's easy to loose a few if things are just a little off in your game.

I kept a tally a few years back and it was 70 something for the season but that included every round I played, both bounce and comps. To be honest it was a negative thing to do. I'm lucky that I have an abundance of premium balls (different makes and models) that it doesn't overly bother me these days and I haven't bought any for years so don't stress it anymore

Hard to say, as if I find a few newish ones, i will play these too. These don't count towards the overall score of balls lost or worn out, as I didn't buy them.
