How long have you been playing this game for?

I've been playing for around 18 months...

I did swing a club a few times when i was a lot younger, but not regularly. I remember last hitting a ball when i was 13ish and then picked up a club again 20 years later!

Starting as soon as I could swing a club as my old man took me down to the course and I have been a member since I was 9 so for 25 years now and played competitively for probably 23 of those.

Played for 8 years, then on and off for 10 years and now back rearing to go. and im just 28 so loads of time before i take on tiger. :-)

Played my first full round at Silverknowes golf course in Edinburgh during the summer of 1972. Scored 129 with an 11 at the par 5 18th ! Happy days :D

Never looked back since then. It's a way of life now.

August 09 was my first round and have been hooked ever since, started with a Handicap of 26 and it quickly went up to 27.4, now off 17.5 and hopefully coming down further. ;0)

Started playing about 12 years ago and stopped for about 3-4 years due to work commitments. I am now on that road again, getting back in the groove and hopefully back to my old handicap of 13.

I started playing up the park as a kid with my niblick 9 iron. I got my first full set in 1996 and got a cap of 23 and was off 9 in 1999 but work and other commitments have meant golf being a past time rather than an obsession.

15 years as a club member, a few years prior to that deciding how to fill the gap in my life left by being past it for serious soccer!

Apart from knocking some balls about on the local playing fields as a kid, I seriously started aged 19 and have played on and off for what will be 32 yrs this yr.

I started when my annual subs were £35 a year! Can you get a round for that now?

Picked up the game when I moved to Nairn in 1980 as a 13 year old. How can you not? Played regularly until I started work in 1989 getting down to h/cap of 10, lapsed for 14 years and then took it up again seriously 2003, starting off at h/cap 13 again.

I have to say that 14 year gap was a waste of life! What was I thinking?

First picked up a club in 1986, played regularly from '88 to 2000 when I left my then club and golf took a back seat up until about 8 or 9 months ago when I started to play regularly again.
My handicap was coming down quite nicely just prior to leaving my club and I reckon had I stayed I would be off single figures by now. Bugger...

Played Pitch & Putt as a young teen. Dabbled with golf from 16 till 32 playing the odd game when my other sporting life allowed.
Joined a society in 1994, joined the club 3 years ago.
