How Long Has Your Course Been Closed

Bangor this evening, in pretty good nick bar one damp area between one teebox and a fairway.

We've not been shut, a bit wet in places but the greens have been sound.

My course drains very well and I was very surprised how dry it was tonight. Managed 9 very bad holes tonight.

As wet as it was last weekend, we had puddles in our bunkers rather than bunkers in our ponds which is how it looked at your place!
Our course is built on mostly clay soil (anyone esle with this type of soil jknows just how bad it can get in the winter), this past few years our drainage has come on in leaps and bounds since we bought all of our own trenching equipment etc.
Damp patch " Where About " I will raise your damp patch. Now thats what i call a damp patch. lolView attachment 2118

This is the correct answer, I remember her saying it was a tough day and could not get the hang of the large greens:fore:
indeed Big val - it was dismal - balls scooting off the back of greens, evil gorse and sun scorched (!) fairways

NRd on the 5th cos the OMID hit one into the gorse - then me off the medal tee shoved one into the gorse, then 5 off the tee and OMID shoved another into the gorse

hated it! ;)

And that was the easy par 3 as well, tee shot must have been wild if you hit it in the gorse, mind you it normally plays into the wind and can be anything from a wedge down wind to a 4 iron into the wind.

Oh Jacqui I really do think you need to give it another try.

grand - i'll take that as an invite! ;)

i played last sunday, champ qual, which was cancelled on the previous day, and execpt for a few wet patches on and of fairways it was in quite good nick.playing longer, but the greens were good' mod speed.but as you will know it's pissed down ever since then. but forecast is good. who do you play in your tie , and where do you play out of? pm me let me know

Whilst away in the Dordogne last week I kept seeing on the news that the UK was suffering from torrential downpours and flooding etc.....you guys need to get up to my gaff Forrester Park. Played 9 holes yesterday and other than the greens being a little bit soft there is no sign of excess rain water anywhere, it's bone dry. Fairways look better than ever, greens look awesome and for once our tee blocks actually look half decent!

Don't know what all the fuss is about.

Don't believe this. Crowborough Beacon is closed due to heavy rain. Inspection due later today.
When I first joined in 1987 it was very rare for the place to be closed even during the worst winters.
Now it's closed at what should be the best time of the year.

To the best of my knowledge none of the courses I play has been closed. There have been a few days when no one would have wanted to play though.
Another beautiful morning here, hope it is the same at Castle Stuart.
