This calling people "idiots" really is a bit OTT. He would only be out with his daughter in a car. Not out shopping bumping into people as they think coz they are in a supermarket they are now immune.

I disagree. The instructor is an idiot for suggesting it. Notwithstanding the inherent risk of an accident from a learner who hasn't driven for 4 weeks getting reacquainted with a car with no dual controls, I'm sure the police would stop any car with L plates on the road during lockdown. You also run the risk of getting named and shamed on social media which seems to be more and more prevalent as the lockdown goes on.
It was a totally idiotic suggestion.

Definitely getting busier out there
I normally leave my house 05:30 for an early to beat some traffic
Had been leaving at 06:00 and enjoying quiet roads
I saw was getting busier so started to leave at 05:45.. might have to go back to the normal time
Plus until this week I was on cruise control all way not having to touch. Now I'm just constantly having to overtake if I set my cruise control to 50 (the speed limit ) and if I do overtake I'm getting flashed to speed up by those who wish to go faster
Was nice whilst it lasted

For the purpose of this thread you could easily argue that anyone who takes their car for a drive say once a month to make sure it's in good working order would be an essential journey as the mot has been extended but we are required to keep the car in roadworthy condition
