how long do you stand over the ball before hitting it????

Its just one of those sayings amateurs should never mutter. A chain of jerky, uncoordinated and usually involuntary movements plus a dodgy follow through is anything but explosive for most hackers (hacker is any golfer above cat 1 for reference).

Just because an amateur is likely to misfire, I'm not sure there is anything wrong with saying, "pull the trigger"?

Quite a random thing to have such a strong opinion on.

Next time you are about to tee off at the first, loudly repeat those three words and report back with the reaction you get. :D in golfing terms it is hilarious, in fact we use it as banter in our fourball as someone said it once and proceeded to top it off the tee.

Are you allowed to shout "Booom" after pulling the trigger and then high 5 your playing partners? if so, I'm in!

I am around 25-30 seconds in total after the person teeing off before me walks away and I have driven off myself, so that includes the placing of my ball, lining up, my own drill and........ :swing:

No more than 5 seconds actually over the ball.

awesome. white troosers, buggies with some trance music blaring, cold box full of beers. my perfect day out! make it happen Brendy and i am on that plane!
Coming to a municipal near you...... White bags but need to have some sort of greasey stain down the groin from the last time when a bacon butty driped hot butter...it doesnt wash out you know!

Honestly though, couple of waggles, quick look at the target and BOOM!

I feel I stand there too long although counting out loud as I type (!) it's no more than 8-10 seconds, less if my game is flowing. Bit of a waggler, both club and shoulders until it feels right and then hit it. Ernie seems to have copied my shoulder waggling routine!
