How long did it take you to break 100? And what do you play off now?

I've been playing golf for a few months now and I've broken the 100 mark twice now. And I'm wondering what might await me next summer.

So..... How long did it take you to break 100? How long have you now been playing golf? And what handicap do you now play off?

It took me about 8 rounds to break 90. Played about 25 rounds now and best is 91 and average is 97/98 with the odd low 100 thrown in. Initial handicap I think will be 26ish and looking to break 20 by next year

started beginning of july this year (albeit played 2 or 3 times about 8 years ago), had four rounds all in the low 100's then one of 94 and have averaged about 97-98 since, taking an average of 40 putts a round at the mo and im confident once i get that sorted i can get down to high 80's this year

only picked up sticks 3 weeks ago and im addicted!!

Played a couple of times the last few years, literally no more than 5 times a year. But took it up seriously this year and been shooting around mid 80's.

Probably broke 100 after 5-6 rounds and a lesson or two.

Played my first full 18 hole round in Oct last year and scored 108...since then I have played maybe 20 rounds at most. Best score was 94. Had 4/5 bang on hundred. And all bar 2 have been inside 110.

In 1958 and it took me 15 months playing with a set of clubs - circa 1936 - which were given to me by my favourite aunty!

TODAY!!! Been playing for 4 months and got 99 today, got lots of 100's but finally broke it today

My mate got a 92 last week and we started together but our average is 100. Mind you I use dunlop clubs and he uses donnay so an upgrade is due and will hopefully slice a few more shots off.

I play off an unofficial 26 handicap and supprisingly my 99 round has the least points compared to the 100+ but I missed alot of par putts by a whisker today

I used 2 hack about as a kid bu I took the game up seriously in march 2010 aged 25 and started shooting under 100 right away, a year and a half later I am off 11.

When I was a kid I played with my cousin or a friend during the summer hols, prob 5-10 rounds a year shooting 120+. Did that for about 3 summers aged 12-15. I did a little bit more until aged 17 where girls, rugby and beer took over. Hardly ever scored properly back then, even with playing relaxed rules I probably got no better than 120. 7 years later it replaced rugby and I took to it right away. The first thing I did was get lessons, then played in competitions, won 2 of my 1st 3 as well!

It was about my 4th or 5th proper 18. HAd played quite a few 9's though. So far back in the mists of time though....

I think I started playing seriously in November 2009 and I think it was about April 2010 and a couple of lessons to break 100. I've managed to break 90 this year a few times, but not in competitions hence I'm still off of 24.1

Took me three rounds when I started up as a teenager back in the early 70s. Within a year I was playing off 16 and eventually got down to 7. Gave the game up for 30 years and then started up again last year. Scored 87 in my first full round after my three decade layoff and managed to shoot a 75 a couple of weeks ago having finally sorted out my diabolical putting stroke.
