How good is golf for injuries....

Did you actually read that article?

Being fair to it, it restricted it's conclusions to reported (or likely) benefits primarily associated with being outdoors and walking; including anxiety and stress. The exercise element being on a par with gardening and yoga...and the latter will be far superior for injury rehab, and future avoidance - obviously when advised by qualified medical opinion.

Golf is an activity that you should get fit for; not one to get you fit. From a physiological perspective it would also be better to 'walk the course' than the walking activity associated with playing - but if you are only going to undertake that activity if playing it obviously has benefit.

Last sentence is key for me. If I wasn't playing golf there is absolutely no chance I would go for a 3.5 to 4 hour walk. Not in this lifetime.
