How far down the leaderboard does the prize money extend?

Is it a percentage cut depending on their final position? What happens to the players that don't even make the cut, do they get anything at all? Do the 'names' get an appearance fee even if they go out with the cut (I'm thinking the likes of Jimenez, Poulter, Woods et al). How does it usually work?

It's usually all laid out on the website in detail.

Open doesn't do appearance money.

I think even if you miss the cut you get few quid

At some of the bigger events like Majors, prize money goes all the way down.
Most others don't pay out unless you make the cut - then you get something, not a lot though...
