How far do you hit your 7 iron and your driver?

7 iron is around 150 total, and driver is around 240-250 total. No idea about carry.

Under 'perfectly normal conditions' and swinging well I'd go with 7-iron from 165 yds.... 160 and I'm thinking 8-iron. Drives vary too much but I'd take anything over 260yds... 280-300yds is a SOLID hit. I'd take a chance at carrying a bunker at 260yds but not if it was a 260yd carry over water.

Your the man.

Carry 155yds average with occasional flyer/good swing of 165yds
Driver averages on a calm day fairway hit with run between 265-275yds depending on run, semi rough about 235-245yds. Actually get the distances I was quoted from Trackman at Titleist Fitting centre in Carton House.

I will stick my willy out there for the measuring competition.................

7i = 170ish
The big stick = around the 280ish mark, maybe 300 if I have 4 weetabix for breakfast......:fore:

Now I am sat ready for the comments towards me like I normally get if we talk about distances.................:mmm:

I can hit my 7 iron anywhere between zero and 200 yards (thinned)
I can hit my driver anywhere between zero and 350 yards (downhill, wind behind, rockhard fairway)
I've hit a putter 200 yards if that helps....

Driver is more likely to be 200 yards wide of the mark though...........

Hows the putting coming on mate.

I have been playing golf for more than 20 years, and have no idea how far I hit any of my clubs.

7i between 140 and 175, and driver between 200 and on a silly day last february, on the flat, no wind, 298. No idea where that one came from.

There are so many variables that affect my distances, the main one being me.

Last night, I flushed a 7i, a 6i, a 5i and my 24 hybrid, all to within a yard of each other. Couldn't have hit any of them any better. Proper golf balls, down the third fairway at my club. Different flights, same out come.

leaney I know why you've asked the question and I think you hit your irons short compared to your Driver if that's any help. The fact you hit your wife's irons further than your own says it all for me...

I hit mine miles at least 200 for the 7 iron and well over 310 average with my driver !!!!!!!!!!!!

this is because I have/am a massive knob!;)

(some of the above may not be true)

I'm gonna echo Homer's sentiment and ask why ask??

These posts always end in a massive playground ruck

Tricky one for me this as our track run up and down hill on most holes

The flattet hole is a 154 yard par 3 and I it an 8 iron and it lands front edge.

Our first is a 360yard par 4 that plays up hill. From the 150 marker i take 7 iron and land it on (Sometimes).
