How does your club issue tee times?

Bookings can be taken either online or by phoning the pro shop. Bookings for every other time can be taken 7 days in advance, the remaining booking can be taken after 9am the day before. This seems to work very well with no issues about having to wait an age to tee off as you may on a Saturday morning roll up and no group can pre-book tee slots months in advance.

We have a computerised system (not sure if it is BRS) but we can book 12 days in advance, seems to work fine, ive never had a problem getting a time on a Saturday or Sunday morning, i have only ever been a member of one club i dont know any differant.

i can only imagine not a having a booking system could be a nitemare in the summer when everyone turns up at the same time you could be waiting around for ages.

Roll up and go, no time allocation other than scheduled comps. There are a couple of slots that are "taken" by regular groups, i.e. most people know that those groups congregate at the same time each week, and whilst there is no allocated time, the groups seem to think that the slot is theirs...... I've not had any issues getting on the tee, only once or twice max in the last 4 years where I've had to wait for two or more groups queued ahead of me - go to the practice ground for half an hour, or the putting green, or up for a coffee in the worst scenario. I've found at the weekend that the best time to play is just before or around midday, or just after 2pm. If I want to play earlier, play in the comp or join one of the roll ups....

My Club has just installed BRS Online Booking
Trials / demos currently taking Place, shop, Pro, Committee
We should be issued PIN's shortly, to register, and be in use very soon
I dont know how far in advance they intend to let us book, or new format for weekend bookings, this is still to be discussed
But Ive heard this BRS system is very good, 3 or 4 other local clubs already have

So, bring it on , we have finally embraced Technology.........

none comp days you just turn up and play

comps are put up 2 weeks previous on the computer you just turn up and put your name down and the money comes off your bar card

easy as anything to do

Roll up and go is what my club does. In competitions the board with tee times goes up a couple of weeks in advance in the pro shop, they make you pay your entry fee there and then to stop people just booking up the tee box. I love not having tee times, means you can turn up whenever and play a game.

All the different groups at the club pretty much have their own times they turn up at and play, which works really well.

we can play when we like as we don't have a booking system, for comps sheet goes up at 8-30 on a THURS for next comp and you can only put your name on list it is then put in pro shop for phone bookings, whats the point of paying to be a member of a club and having to pre-book a game what if you fancy a quick knock after work and haven't booked,id sooner pay more and join a club like mine.

Crowborough has an on-line booking system where you can book up to 30 days in advance for both competition and casual rounds. When the course is quiet you can just turn up and go. Best of both worlds.

Another using the BRS System. We can only book 6 days in advance at present but I believe it may be about to change to longer. Like Smiffy when the course is quiet you can just turn up and play.

We can book 7 days in advance or 8 days in advance for a Saturday. I do it on the website really easily and can add any member at the club. Really good system.

We have just moved from start sheets every day to a computerised system, it's quite funny thinking of some of the seniors with fingers poised over their computers waiting for the clock to tick over from 6.59 to 7.00am when bookings open! They are the ones who want to go off between 8.00-9.30 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our club has a Dormy House and for much of the season they have the tee from 9.30 for up to as much as an hour thus the rush to get the names down.We are also 14 days in advance but if you play late morning/early afternoon you can generally just walk on.

We only uise tee times on Medal and Comp days, you just pick a slot off a starting sheet.

The rest of the time we have a rotating tee system that changes with 2.5 hour slots. For example: 2 balls tee of the first 8:00 to 10:30 - 3/4 balls tee off the 10th or 14th 8:00 to 10:30.. At 10:30 3/4 ball tee off the first or 6th - two balls tee off the 10t, and so on. It works well.
