Ours ended up being reductions only - blowing a Gale, only one person finished under par!!!

Feel ya pain , 184 yard par three flushed a driver pin high, on the flip I did ram an 9 iron about 165 with a tail wind....

conditions were really nice; a bit of wind which i like and quite warm. but rain yesterday and overnight and course was in shocking condition. been a member for 2 months today and i'm really not impressed. rough is blotchy, drainage of the course is woeful so the course is constantly closed. greens were awful today with 2 temp greens and 2 temp tee's ! doesn't excuse my 39 putts though, could have been a really good round if my short game had been anywhere decent.

32 points for 7th place in the midweek stableford on Friday (0.1 back). Played the roll up yesterday and got 29 points and didn't hit it great and putted so poorly. Swing feels like it is mis-firing just fractionally but is putting everything out of kilter. The 32 on Friday in the wind and heavy showers was actually a decent effort as I didn't swing great there either. Hit the practice ground this morning but couldn't find the trigger.Worked on the putting and chipping and feel they are coming along now

Stableford comp in very high winds at my place, and a mad panic at the start.
I'd taken my wedges out the bag for a clean, arrived at the course early for a spell on the practice green and realised I'd left my wedges in the kitchen! One mad dash later and I'm on the first tee, out of breath and facing our 582 yard par 5 into the wind! Drive, two hybrids and an 8 iron got me on the fringe and I was delighted with a bogey for 2 points.
After 6 holes I was on handicap and feeling okay, hit a good drive on 7 and then ballooned a hybrid, which my playing partners said went OB, tried to keep the next down and stuck it in the bushes, blob, so I wasn't too pleased to find my first ball 5 yards in bounds! Must have hit the trees or something and bounced back in, I'd not called a Provisional so could only pick it up. Then only made 1 point on the next two holes which meant I was out in 13.
Started the back 9 like a train but made a silly three putt on 15 and an awful mess of 16 and finished up with 30, CSS was 74 but while in the bar a CAT 1 guy came in and did me a favour with his poor score pushing CSS to 75 and reductions only, it should stay that way too, phew!

was to play a two man team event with Chopper007, other 2 pulled out during the week , couple of texts & we decided we would go for a few holes anyhow .. big gap after the early starters so we played 10/7/8/9 then a matchplay for the back 9 .. well to say i was handed my rear end on a plate was an understatement .. & i hit it decent enough aswell

30 points in todays stableford for me.
4 blobs all caused by my poor short game, thinned wedges duffed chips all in there. 0.1 back will have me teetering on the brink of 15 hcp.
Some positives at least, driver and long game was pretty good and putter still going well. Bit gutted, waited for an eterntity for the first comp and will not get to play another for a while.

I played on Saturday and won our first club medal of the year by 5 shots. I shot 67 gross less 6 for a nett 61. I've been cut from 5.6 to 4.8 so back to cat 1 at long last.

Well I thought I was going in the right direction, my previous four rounds have all been straight, hitting fairways & approaches consistently - I didn't even lose a ball for 3 of those rounds and scored 106/106/110/109, just silly & preventable mistakes stopped me breaking 100. Then yesterday I had an absolute meltdown. I could not have hit a barn door even if I was stood inside the barn. I even struggled to hit the ball and walked off dejected and soaked with 62 after 9. This was made even worse by getting absolutely thrashed by someone who plays once a month, if that (40 after 9).
TBH even if I had played well the rain was being driven through the seams of my allegedly weatherproof trousers so I could not have played on anyway.
