how did we all get on today?

Great worked a 12 hour day shift and have got another tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday ,living the dream :D.
But never mind playing Thursday and Saturday.

Worked all morning and most of the afternoon - then hit Tesco's - then collapsed in a heap in front of the telly till dinner - then sat in front of a computer screen for an hour before crashing out to be up for work tomorrow morning.
Golf at weekends?
What's that?

Played not bad today got it round in 75, 5 over, with a stupid double at the 9th. 16 full greens on and I thought I was in with a chance of lifting some cash until this guy galloped into the bar on his horse wearing a sombrero. 14 putts on the back 9, things are coming together.

Off out for a lesson on the short game tomorrow. It better be warmer today standing around being shown how to do it properly. The wind was proper cold today even with a number of layers and a jacket on

hope your lesson goes well Homer, you must be really glad to gave your old pro back

out in 43, back in 43 take my 12 handicap off thats 74, a bit heavy going up here in longhirst, 1st game in 2 weeks, also society starts today and im stiff as a board, but clear sunshine and cold so looking forward 2 it

played today. 18 temps, great. Was messing about, hitting irons off the tee, to leave a proper shot in. Was striking the ball like a golfer today. Nice draw, long, crisp strike, the lot. Where the flip was all that when I needed it on Friday?

I had a great round yesterday, shooting 72 for a net 60. There are some serious handicap issues at our club (not withstanding my own score before its mentioned!), a 28 handicapper shot an 82 for a 54 net...i trailed home in 3rd in the monthly medal.

Frost covered the course this morning and play was only delayed till 8.45. Even then the greens were rock hard and i (limped) round for an 83. I 'hit' 15 greens in regulation too - didnt stay on them mind with them bouncing like runways.

What a difference a day makes.

Frustrating day at Woburn. Some good golf but inconsistent.

Played the Marquess and had 17 points on the front nine but the wind picked up and had only 12 points on the back 9. Mind you the 17 on the front included a gross birdie (net eagle) on the signature par 5 with the split fairway.

Seemed to be I'd hit good straight drive followed by one poor one. Maybe I should have only driven on the even holes. Would have been a good day for foursomes!

Jealous to say the least, wont be able to play for at least a week with a groin strain but saw The Skids in Dunfermline last night
you're playing well Biff.

Got my first full round of the year in today and already hit one of the goals I set myself for this year. Got a 99 (2nd time under a 100 for me) which I was chuffed about. Never played the course before and was the first time with my new putter. Had a few 7s, however today was easily my most consistant rounds for ball striking. I was putting really well from longer distances however I missed at least 8 putts from within 6 yards. 4 par 3s on the course and I hit the green on 3 of them which is easily another PB for me as they are usually my downfall.

Need to work on my driving as I am still straying too many shots to the right. My goal for this year is to be able to regular score 90-95.

well done mate, did it myself just before Xmas so I know how happy you are feeling :)It's a big one to pass.

Mixed Ambrose today. Glorious day but a really heavy frost overnight so winter greens. Shame really as if we'd tee'd off at 10:00 rather than 8:30, we could have played proper greens.

Struck the ball really well today and actually hit the two par 5s in two for the first time in soooooo long. We played pretty well and only had 3s and 4s on the card. Came in with a 55 net and picked up a win and 4 bottles of wine.

Nice.

It was interesting to see someone play off the ladies tees as I'd never noticed that they seem to put them behind any bit of gorse they can. Clearly whoever laid the course out was doing their best to discourage lady members!

Although I managed to play at my own club yesterday,I passed by another club nearer home today, Glencorse, and they are still closed due to snow on the fairways and greens on the more sheltered parts of the course.

Roll on Spring :D

Great day here. Little chilly, but the sun was out and all the greens were on for the first time in 6 weeks.

Played in a 3 club and putter comp, full handicap. Never played in one before so didn't know what to expect.

Took a 3 hybrid, 7i, PW and Putter.

Went out in 43, back in 44 for an 87 net 67 :D

I won't tell you some of the comments I got when I got into the clubhouse. They are unprintable ;)

I'd take that with a full bag :o
Just shows how much we have in the bag we never use though.

Round in 79 (62!) today in temp greens. Ground reasonable in parts and rough been largely flattened by the recent snow made things a little easier.

Swinging the club well with reasonable ball strike.

Good dress rehearsal today for a horror next week for the first medal most likely....

It was actually quite a learning experience for me.

If I had to pick the 3 clubs I probably hit the best then it would be those. So every shot I hit I felt confident. I didn't try to force things just hit a normal shots to get me in range of a wedge. Get it on the green and give me a putt for Par.

The ball just never seemed to get too far from where I wanted it to be.

Played at my girlfriends course today and shot a 66 par 68 on the winter course and

HAD A HOLE IN 1!!!!!!!!! first one for me as well i was buzzing to say the least.
